The nursery school playground in Bordeaux is the first Corkeen project in France Case StudiesThis is a perfect match with Corkeen’s values.
In a project carried out by the Municipality of Bordeaux to renovate all the playgrounds of the city’s schools and nurseries, the Corkeen system was chosen for the Paul Lapie nursery school. The goal of this project is to make playgrounds safer, but also fresher, more playful and greener.
Drainage capacity was also a key factor in this choice, as well as the sustainability issue: the new playground was completely renovated, with the remaining playground equipment recycled.
The total area of the nursery school's playground is 400m2, of which 100m2 was covered with the Corkeen system. In the remaining spaces, a vegetable garden will be created, as well as a space for perennial and aromatic plants. The total area covered by the Municipality’s project will cover 8,500 m2 of new green spaces in schools and nurseries in the city of Bordeaux.

Applied solution
After removing the old rubber floor, Corkeen Play Original was installed in situ by SONESDI (SQUAIRE Services network), the Corkeen Regional Distributor in Aquitaine.
The system consists of two layers, a shock-absorbing base layer and a wear-resistant top layer. It complies with EN1176 and EN117 safety standards and has a 5-year warranty.
