The Corkeen system was installed in a new playground in the iconic Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Park Case Studies

The Corkeen system was implemented at the Anna C. Verna Playground at Philadelphia's FDR Park (Pennsylvania).

Seamlessly blending with the natural landscape, our retained fall protection system covers a vast area of 26,285 sq. ft. in the gorgeous play area, providing safety, well-being, and total accessibility for all, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility equipment.

Besides the "Skyline Swing", the largest in North America, Anna C. Verna Playground features many swings for visitors of all ages, "birdhouse" structures, and climbing areas. With this playing offer, the urban park guarantees its users an unforgettable experience in an organic, green, inspirational environment.

FDR Park is Philadelphia's iconic 348-acre park, carved out of the tidal marshes in the city's South. It was opened in 1921 as League Island Park and is a designated Historic District by the Philadelphia Historical Commission.

The Corkeen system has an excellent drainage capacity and is made with cork, a valuable raw material from Mother Nature. These were the two main reasons why our eco-friendly solution was selected for the prestigious project in the US. But that’s not all, the Corkeen system has much more to offer!

It’s odourless, rot-resistant and fireproof, making it a safe and durable choice. Moreover, it acts as a natural insulator, reducing surface temperature by more than 20% when compared to some synthetic alternatives.

Thanks to its unparalleled characteristics, it is becoming a sought-after solution for entities committed to reducing their ecological footprint and championing sustainability in urban environments.
