Sandvik Play, the Corkeen brand master for the Norwegian market, installed the Corkeen Play system in the outdoor playground of the renovated Holen School in Bergen.
Aimed at 650 students, the Holen School is the first non-fossil construction project in the municipality of Bergen. To meet this objective, only electrical machinery was used or machinery powered by alternative fuels and 95% of the waste produced on site was sent for recycling.
In addition, the school building was constructed as an NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building), with a BREEAM - NOR certificate of Excellent. A profile that ensures the building's low energy consumption during use.
In this context, it was perfectly natural to choose Corkeen Play Original, to be applied to the floor of outdoor playspaces, given its sustainability credentials.
The Corkeen system has a negative carbon balance of -102 kg CO2 eq/m2 for a thickness of 40 mm (25mm base layer and 15mm top layer) and a critical fall height of 1.45 m. The carbon sequestration of the cork oak forest associated to the product exceeds the CO2 emissions resulting from its production.
In addition to the Corkeen system, Sandvik Play also installed trampolines and all recreational and sports equipment in the park.

Corkeen Play Original was installed in situ by Sandvik Play, the Corkeen Brand Master for the Norwegian market. The system is applied in two layers: a shock-absorbing base layer and a wear-proof top layer.
Developed and produced by Amorim in accordance with strict safety standards (EN1176 and EN1177), the Corkeen system offers state-of-the-art technical performance and maximum safety for children, with a 5-year warranty.
