At Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, in Frisco, North Texas, United States, play has taken on a whole new dimension. Yes! This outdoor area has been transformed into a space-themed environment for adventures among stars and planets.
Here, vibrant shapes and colours inspired by the universe spark curiosity and joy, inviting little ones to dream big while they play.
Beneath their feet, Corkeen* provides a soft and pleasant surface - a foundation designed not only for fun but also for comfort and serenity.
*The Corkeen application in this project refers exclusively to the surrounding surface of the playground. The coloured and decorative elements shown in the images are not part of the Corkeen system.
Covering 2,153 sq. ft., the playground features Corkeen’s cork-based safety surfacing system, combining impact protection, comfort, and the natural properties of cork.
Made primarily with natural cork, a renewable and recyclable material, Corkeen ensures that every step, jump, and landing happens with confidence and peace of mind.
Because exploring new worlds often comes with a few tumbles, its soft, elastic texture absorbs impact effectively, helping to reduce the risk of injuries from falls while preserving a gentle feel underfoot.
This way, young “astronauts” can run and imagine freely, turning each moment into a truly memorable experience.
