Corkeen’s innovative surface becomes part of an art installation at The Noguchi Museum in New York, US! Projects

When art and play intertwine, something extraordinary happens.

In a bold departure from traditional playgrounds, our cork-based system is featured in Temitayo Ogunbiyi’s interactive exhibition You will wonder if we could have been friends”, located at The Noguchi Museum in New York, United States.

Here, our one-of-a-kind solution becomes more than just a foundation. It is a canvas for creativity, inviting visitors of all ages to explore, move, and connect.

This unique collaboration celebrates a shared vision of creating spaces that inspire, nurture social connection, and bridge worlds through both artistic expression and playful engagement.

Beneath the remarkable and inventive artwork of Temitayo Ogunbiyi lies a surface that turns every step into part of the story.

Here, the artist’s three-piece steel sculpture, You will pave paths of life with play (2025), features bars wrapped in manila rope, offering a tactile, slip-resistant grip for safer interaction, alongside a seating zone designed for freeform play.

Crafted from cork, our solution provides a rich sensory palette. With its warm, earthy tones and soft texture, it evokes a sense of ease, perfectly complementing Ogunbiyi’s approach to playtime as a wellspring for communication, creativity, and risk-taking through bodily interaction and invented games.

Far from a passive backdrop, it acts as an accomplice to the imagination, framing moments, sparking curiosity, and amplifying the vibrant energy of the space.
